My trauma therapy sessions are designed to help clients heal from the effects of trauma, such as PTSD, childhood abuse, and sexual assault. I use evidence-based treatments, such as EMDR and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), to help clients process their trauma and develop coping skills to manage symptoms.
Cultural identity therapy explores the ways culture, family dynamics, and lived experiences shape emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self. Through culturally responsive and narrative-based approaches, I help clients better understand inherited beliefs, internalized pressures, and identity conflicts while developing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. Together, we work toward greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, and authenticity.
I provide an affirming and supportive space for LGBTQ+ individuals navigating identity exploration, relationships, family dynamics, self-acceptance, and the emotional impact of discrimination or minority stress. Therapy offers a space to process these experiences, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and build a more authentic and connected relationship with yourself and others.
Sometimes people come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected from themselves, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or exhausted from constantly holding everything together. Individual therapy creates space to slow down, better understand yourself, and explore the emotional patterns underneath what you’re experiencing. My approach is collaborative, insight-oriented, and tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
Relationships can become strained by communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, recurring conflict, cultural differences, unmet needs, or life stressors.
Couples therapy helps partners better understand one another, strengthen emotional safety, and shift unhealthy relational patterns. The goal is not simply to “stop fighting,” but to build healthier communication, deeper understanding, and a stronger connection.
Family relationships can be deeply meaningful while also carrying tension, conflict, pressure, or longstanding emotional dynamics. Family therapy offers a supportive space to improve communication, navigate boundaries, and better understand the roles and patterns that exist within the family system. Sessions focus on fostering healthier interactions while creating more emotional understanding and connection.
Anxiety does not always look obvious. Sometimes it shows up as overthinking, perfectionism, difficulty relaxing, emotional exhaustion, irritability, people-pleasing, or constantly feeling mentally “on.” Therapy can help you understand the deeper roots of anxiety, build emotional regulation skills, and create a healthier balance between achievement, self-worth, and rest.
Depression can feel like emotional heaviness, numbness, low motivation, hopelessness, isolation, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you. In therapy, we work toward understanding what may be contributing to these experiences while creating space for healing, self-compassion, and reconnection..
Past experiences can continue to shape the way we relate to ourselves, emotions, relationships, safety, and identity long after they occur. Trauma therapy helps clients process painful experiences while developing greater emotional awareness, resilience, and self-understanding. I also recognize the ways trauma can exist across generations through family systems, cultural expectations, and inherited emotional patterns.
